Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Legal Assistant Job Responsibilities:
Serve as a key point of contact between attorneys, clients, and internal teams Draft, edit, and format legal documents and correspondence Manage complex calendars, including scheduling meetings, calls, and travel Handle incoming calls and emails, ensuring timely and professional communication Transcribe dictation and maintain accurate documentation Anticipate attorney needs and provide proactive administrative support Track and follow up on outstanding tasks, deadlines, and projects
