Plainview, NY Purpose/Objective:
Responsible for assisting the General Counsel and Attorney with all inquiries sent to the Legal Dept. at Eastern Funding and handling all administrative tasks within the Legal Dept. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Prepare and review affidavits, legal correspondence, legal mail and other documents. Make phone calls and review and send necessary legal correspondence, letters, and notices. Prepare notices of sale and disposition of required accounts. Organize and maintain documents in a paper or electronic filing system. Prepare and ensure accurate formal notices for demand and default. Perform bankruptcy searches, SCRA searches, lien searches. Keep accurate records of all legal matters. Request payoffs and prepare payoff letters as requested. Prepare document package for matters assigned to outside counsel. Review and prepare legal invoices for processing/payment. Prepare spreadsheets as necessary to list out equipment, payoff amount, locations, invoices and other subjects as necessary. Job Specifications (Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required) A bachelor's degree required with at least 1-2 years of paralegal experience in the collection or finance field. Thorough knowledge of finance, banking, contract, replevin, repossession, leasing, real estate, business acquisition laws related to equipment leasing and finance. Ability to multitask, exceptional organizational skills to work in a fast-paced environment, and work independently. A proactive professional who exhibits sound judgment and a sense of urgency. Proficiency in MSWord, MSExcel, NYSCEF court system, PACER, CTLien, LexisNexis. Experience in the collection or finance field. Experience in NYSCEF court system, PACER, CTLien, LexisNexis.
