Role:
We are an estate planning law firm dedicated to providing personalized legal solutions with a client-focused approach. Our team guides individuals and families through the estate planning and administration process with professionalism, efficiency, and care. We are currently seeking a full-time Estates Paralegal to join our collaborative team. The ideal candidate has experience in both estate planning and estate administration, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. This role involves supporting attorneys with drafting documents, managing deadlines, and ensuring a seamless client experience from start to finish.
Responsibilities include:
Preparing probate and administration petitions for submission to the Surrogate's Court Preparing accountings for estates and trusts Assisting with all phases of estate and trust administration Gathering asset information and helping prepare estate tax returns (706/709) Communicating professionally with clients, financial institutions, and court staff Managing case files, calendars, deadlines, and client correspondence
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience in estate planning and/or estate administration Familiarity with Surrogate's Court procedures (New York experience strongly preferred) Excellent written and verbal communication skills High level of organization and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines Proficient with
