A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Job Description
Responsibilities include:
1. Assisting with administrative office duties including case management, bookkeeping, and data entry. 2. Assisting in the preparation of Medicaid applications and the necessary supporting documents. (Candidate should be able to carefully read bank statements and accurately log bank account information.) 3. Answering phones and having extensive client contact (by phone, email, and in-person.) 4. Initial preparation of Estate Planning Documents (Powers of Attorneys, Wills, and Trusts.) 5. Other duties depending on experience, knowledge, and the ability to learn new tasks.Qualifications:
1. Experience in an Elder Law or Estate Planning law firm is preferred, but we are willing to train a bright entry-level employee.MEDICAID APPLICATION EXPERIENCE IS A PLUS.
Recent college grads are encouraged to apply. 2. Must have excellent spoken and written communication skills. 3. Must have excellent computer skills. Experience using WordPerfect and Google products (Sheets, Calendar, and Gmail) is a plus. 4. Must be able to carry files weighing up to 25 lbs up and down 2 flights of stairs.Compensation & Benefits:
Salary range: $40,000 - $60,000 per year, commensurate with skills and experience.Job Type:
