We serve as an independent third party in real estate transactions, structuring exchanges to qualify for tax deferral and acting as the escrow agent for exchange proceeds. We are currently seeking a Paralegal / Exchange Coordinator to join our in-house legal team at our Woodbury, Long Island location. This is an excellent opportunity for a paralegal with commercial real estate transactional experience who is looking to grow professionally in a highly specialized area of real estate and tax law. Key Responsibilities Support the Legal 1031 team in administering a variety of exchange transactions Assist in-house counsel with reviewing and editing correspondence, company forms, and marketing materials Upon training, work closely with the team on complex transactions, including reverse and improvement exchanges Develop a strong working knowledge of §1031 exchange rules to support attorneys and other professionals Prepare exchange documentation and coordinate with clients and their professional advisors Organize and manage transaction pipelines, track critical deadlines, and ensure timely follow-up Maintain client files, account statements, and provide administrative and transactional support Collect, analyze, and verify transactional documents and related information Qualifications Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook, particularly Word and Excel Professional demeanor with strong client service and interpersonal skills Strong work ethic with the ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines Exceptional attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information Excellent organizational, time management, verbal, and written communication skills Prior experience in real estate transactions, escrow, title, tax, accounting, or financial services is strongly preferred
