This position offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced attorneys, gain valuable legal experience, and contribute to meaningful projects within the firm. Responsibilities As a legal paralegal, you would be responsible for (1) drafting start-to-finish legal documentation, (2) supporting our attorney(s) in managing estate planning, Medicaid applications, and probate matters, and (3) being the front-line in our culture of excellence in client experience
Responsibilities Include:
Manage probate of estate matters, working with local probate courts, preparing deeds, and submitting affadavits Prepare documents, i.e., affidavits, subpoenas, and legal correspondence, and organize and maintain files and calendaring systems. Maintain electronic files in the case management system and filing of paper documents. Case manage clients receiving Medicaid Asset Protection Services and Trust Planning Services. Communicate with clients and family members, as needed. Schedule and attend all assigned client meetings. Manage the timeline and follow up with assigned clients, taking notes, sending follow-up communications, and reviewing assigned cases with the attorney to ensure timely progress. Interact with various community partners and agencies. Maintain client and administrative files in accordance with firm procedures and case management system Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned Answer phones and schedule consultations Qualifications Two (2) years+ of legal experience. Two (2) years + of elder law experience Excellent grammar, spelling, writing, and proofreading skills. Excellent with the Microsoft Office suite. Current Notary, or willingness to obtain. Experience in Estate Planning, Administration, and Elder Care law is preferred.
