A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Immigration Paralegal is responsible for supporting multiple attorneys in the Firm and is expected to have a high degree of responsibility for project management and implementation to help deliver efficient, responsive and creative results for our clients.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential Functions Statement(s) Drafting, proofing and editing of complex legal documents Conduct legal research, prepare case summaries, fact compilation and chronology preparation Organize case files, discovery materials and manage the document management system Coordination of complex multi-step immigration processes Tracking of appellate deadlines Liaison work between trial counsel and appellate teams Vendor management (translation services, document services, etc.) Record preparation and appendix compilation Citation checking and legal research using Westlaw and other databases Brief formatting and compliance with court requirements Docketing and deadline management for appellate and litigation matters Understanding of trial court record review Interact with other paralegals to assist with heavy workload or coverage Client communication and status update coordination Calendar management for multiple attorneys and complex deadlines Billing and time entry Perform other duties as requestedSupervisory Responsibilities :
