Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to play a critical role in our litigation support team. You will handle case management from inception through trial, ensuring that all discovery, document production, and courtroom preparations are executed with precision. The successful candidate will be comfortable managing high volumes of complex information, performing thorough research, and assisting attorneys in both high-pressure office environments and during active trial proceedings. This Role:
Proactive Case Ownership:
Take full initiative in managing the lifecycle of your assigned cases, ensuring all discovery deadlines are met and documents are meticulously organized before they reach the attorney's desk.
Trial Readiness & Precision:
Maintain an "always-trial-ready" status for case files, ensuring that exhibits, chronologies, and medical damage summaries are constantly updated, accurate, and ready for immediate presentation in court.
Key Responsibilities:
Discovery & Documentation:
Manage incoming and outgoing discovery; review, index, and organize extensive document productions while ensuring compliance with standards for relevance, confidentiality, and privilege.
Damage Assessment:
Secure medical records and billing statements; calculate total damages including lost wages, medical expenses, and property damage; manage liens and affidavits.
Legal Support:
Conduct background investigations on witnesses and perform legal research using established databases
Trial Preparation:
Prepare exhibits for depositions, mediations, and trials; maintain master case chronologies; and assist attorneys in court by managing exhibit tracking and digital presentations.
Administrative Accuracy:
Perform Bate stamping and redactions; proofread legal documents; and prepare materials for motion filings.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Solid understanding of civil litigation, including state and federal court rules and deadlines.
Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat Pro. Familiarity with trial presentation software and cloud-based file management systems.
Organization:
Superior ability to multitask and adjust to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Communication:
Exceptional listening and communication skills with a professional demeanor.
Independence:
Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision while maintaining a strong team-player mindset.
Additional Details:
Must demonstrate absolute attention to detail and a high level of accuracy under pressure. Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team structure is essential.
