When asked what our staff likes about working here, they say it is because they get to help real people in real need and work together as a team. Our personal injury team consists of two attorneys, one of counsel, two paralegals and one legal assistant. Together, we provide outstanding representation and support through a very difficult legal process, fighting insurance companies to get our clients compensation. We are seeking a person who wants to learn and grow. The person who succeeds at this position will have excellent interpersonal skills, work in a cooperative manner with our staff and attorneys; and establish good relationships with those outside the office, including, medical offices staff, other law firm staff, and staff at administrative and governmental agencies. They will capably track multiple projects, learn how to read medical records, legal documents and other types of records, and calendar, track and complete law office deadlines. We prefer applicants have office experience but will consider others who have strong customer service skills, good attention to detail and familiarity with computers, word processing and technology. Those with no previous office experience must have a strong desire to learn and the ability to pick up new skills quickly. Experience with Excel, Word, and Clio a plus. Spanish language fluency a plus.
Job tasks include:
  • Open and close client files
  • Obtain police reports and video surveillance footage
  • Request medical treatment and billing records (drafting requests, tracking responses, and following up with providers)
  • Maintain electronic files
  • Organize photos/videos
  • Log incoming and outgoing emails
  • Oversee incoming and outgoing mail and faxes
  • Log, scan, bates stamp, and organize incoming and outgoing discovery
  • Draft/format/edit correspondence
  • Contact medical providers and track outstanding medical bills
  • Follow up on document requests to insurance companies and/or attorneys' offices
  • Electronically format release forms, insurance applications, etc.
  • Compile and copy/scan/print/log correspondence and discovery responses
  • Coordinate new client intake appointments (print intake documents, create folder for intake and produce confirming e-mail or letter with intake documents)
  • Setting up phone calls with providers
  • Troubleshoot minor tech issues (re: discovery)
  • Help with special projects
