- $85,000 About Us Filippatos is a client-focused plaintiff-side law firm dedicated to advocating for individuals who have been wronged.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Management:
- Supervise, mentor and evaluate paralegals, law clerks, and assistants
- Oversee daily team operations to ensure timely, accurate and compliant case support
- Assist in recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new staff
- Conduct performance evaluations and support ongoing training and development
- Lead team meetings to align priorities and resolve workflow issues
- Develop documents and maintain internal workflows, templates and best practices
- Serve as primary liaison between paralegal staff, attorneys, and firm leadership
Litigation & Case Management:
- Coordinate and conduct new client orientation appointments.
- Oversee all stages of case intake, assignment, and client onboarding
- Manage case calendars, deadlines, and court procedural compliance
- Draft, review, and oversee preparation of legal documents, including:
- Complaints
- Discovery requests and responses
- Subpoenas
- Deposition summaries
- Pretrial motions
- Assist attorneys with depositions, mediations, and trial preparation
- Coordinate e-discovery, document production, privilege review, and redactions
- Maintain and optimize case management systems and tracking tools
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and administrative agency rules (EEOC, DOL, MCAD, etc.)
- Conduct and review client intake interviews and prepare summaries for attorney review
- Maintain confidential client files and ensure strict adherence to privacy standards
- Provide professional and empathetic client communication support throughout litigation
- Assist in mediation and settlement preparation, including exhibits and client declarations
Financial, Billing & Administrative Oversight:
- Monitor and review firm and case-related invoices for accuracy and compliance Coordinate approval and processing of vendor payments and litigation expenses Track and update case expenses across all matters Reconcile litigation costs and assist with budgeting and financial forecasting Coordinate with attorneys on time entry compliance, review of billing narratives, and corrections Assist in client billing processes and ensure accurate and timely invoices Track attorney CLE (Continuing Legal Education) requirements, deadlines, and compliance records Maintain organized records of firm expenses, reimbursements, and case cost allocations
Strategic Operations:
- Report directly to the COO on staffing, operations, and performance metrics Collaborate with leadership to optimize workflows and resource allocation Participate in strategic planning to improve efficiency and case outcomes Identify opportunities for automation and legal technology improvements Support departmental budgeting and forecasting initiatives
Quality Control:
- Review all paralegal and law clerk work for accuracy and compliance Ensure adherence to ethical, procedural, and confidentiality standards
- Stay current on employment law developments and litigation best practices
- Develop and maintain training programs and reference materials
- Oversee document retention policies and secure data management practices
About You:
- Must be able to arrive to work on-time, follow directions
- Must be able to work as a member of a team
- Must have experience managing a team of paralegals
- Must have strong organizational and time management skills
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and project management experience Professional experience:
- 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience, ideally in employment law Prior supervisory or team leadership experience strongly preferred Strong understanding of litigation procedures, court rules, and e-discovery Experience with legal billing, invoicing, and case expense tracking Familiarity with CLE tracking and compliance preferred Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment • Proficiency with legal case management and billing systems
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in the legal field required, Paralegal certificate preferred
Required:
Must be the minimum 18 years of age Must be willing to undergo employment screening Environmental and Physical requirements: Must be able to lift, push or pull 25 lbs Office environment, will be sitting for prolonged periods at a time of 8 hours or more Regularly uses computer, phones, during shifts of 8+ hoursBenefits:
