Job Description

Litigation Legal Assistant Paganelli Law Group, a mid-sized business law firm with offices in Indianapolis and Bloomington, is looking for an experienced and highly organized Litigation Legal Assistant to join our award-winning team. This position will be based in our Indianapolis office on the far north side of the city. Position Details This is a full-time position of approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and includes a paid one-hour lunch break. After 90 days of employment, employees are eligible for a hybrid schedule that allows one remote workday per week. Starting salary will be based on experience. PLG also offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes: Subsidized health insurance Firm-paid dental, vision, disability, and life insurance Fitness center membership 401(k) retirement plan 15 days of paid time off during your first year, with accrual beginning immediately Primary Responsibilities The Litigation Legal Assistant will provide direct support to our litigation attorneys and help keep matters organized, accurate, and moving forward.
Responsibilities include:
Managing litigation files in a largely paperless office, including client documents, pleadings, discovery materials, correspondence, and other case-related documents Drafting appearances and other basic legal documents Entering attorney time into the firm's online timekeeping system Assisting with preparation for trials, hearings, and depositions Managing attorney dockets and tracking important court dates, deadlines, and other case-related obligations Assisting with electronic filing in Indiana state and federal courts What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.
Candidates must:
Have at least three years of experience working as a legal assistant Be highly organized and attentive to detail Possess excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation, and overall communication skills, both written and verbal Be a high school graduate; a college degree is preferred Have experience working with a Mac computer or be willing to learn Be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook Be able to type at least 60 words per minute Exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information If you're looking for an opportunity to do meaningful work, contribute to a strong team, and grow with a firm that values your role, we'd love to hear from you.
