Job Description

We are seeking a Medical Records & Documentation Specialist to manage healthcare documentation, process records requests, and support compliance-related administrative functions. This position is fully remote; however, candidates must reside in the Chattanooga, Tennessee area due to occasional in-person responsibilities based on business needs. The ideal candidate has hands-on medical records experience, strong knowledge of HIPAA requirements, proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, and an active notary certification. Key Responsibilities Prepare, print, and organize forms, records, and supporting documentation Process certifications, records requests, and related paperwork Sign and notarize required documents Maintain accurate and organized medical records documentation Track documentation and ensure timely processing Assist with backlog reduction and document-processing projects Coordinate and monitor necessary office supplies and materials Safeguard confidential information and maintain HIPAA compliance Follow established privacy, documentation, and administrative procedures Required Qualifications 2+ years of medical records experience Active Notary Public certification Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare privacy requirements Experience working with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to independently manage a high volume of records and administrative tasks Must reside in the Chattanooga, TN area Ability to accommodate occasional in-person responsibilities as needed
