Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Rust Belt Resources has partnered with a highly respected, regional law firm on a detail
  • oriented and proactive Litigation Paralegal to join their team in Charleston, West Virginia. This is an excellent opportunity for a structured, collaborative professional who thrives in a people

In this role, you will take ownership of litigation files and provide comprehensive support to attorneys through trial preparation, administrative coordination, and client communication.
Key duties include:
Case & Litigation Management:
Draft discovery documents, assist in preparing key legal filings (petitions, motions, responses, notices), and manage the litigation docket.
Filing & Deadlines:
Handle electronic filing (e
  • filing) in both state and federal courts and diligently calendar all case deadlines.
Trial Preparation:
Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings and trials, including the compilation of trial notebooks.
Record Coordination:
Order, track, and organize medical and billing records.
Case Administration:
Schedule depositions, handle client inquiries, and assist with general administrative duties (typing, formatting documents, scanning, and filing).
Transactional Support:
Assist attorneys with transactional real estate and corporate matters as needed.
Requirements Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a paralegal, ideally with a focus on litigation.
Education/Certification:
Paralegal certification is a strong plus, but not required.
Technical Proficiency:
Strong computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet research.
Soft Skills:
Outstanding organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities with an uncompromising eye for detail.
Confidentiality:
Absolute commitment to maintaining strict client and firm confidentiality.
