Contract Duration:
Through December 31, 2027 Position Overview Company is seeking an experienced Trademark Paralegal to support its legal department's trademark functions. This role will provide hands-on support for trademark prosecution, trademark searches, docket management, dispute-related activities, legal documentation, and coordination with internal stakeholders and outside counsel. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in trademark prosecution, excellent legal writing and research skills, and the ability to independently manage multiple trademark matters and deadlines. Key Responsibilities Support attorneys with trademark prosecution and related legal matters. Prepare and file trademark prosecution documents, including new applications and declarations of use. Gather and prepare specimens and supporting documentation for submission to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and other trademark offices. Conduct comprehensive trademark searches using the USPTO database and other trademark research platforms. Retrieve, review, and maintain trademark dockets to ensure accurate tracking of activities and deadlines. Assist attorneys with trademark disputes, including case preparation, fact-finding, investigation, and document organization. Coordinate documentation and information requests related to trademark disputes. Draft concise and effective trademark-related communications, including cease-and-desist letters and correspondence with outside counsel. Respond to trademark-related document requests and inquiries from internal and external stakeholders. Coordinate regularly with outside law firms, internal employees, attorneys, and senior management. Conduct online legal and trademark research as required. Maintain organized records and manage multiple trademark matters while meeting critical deadlines. Independently identify and address routine and increasingly complex issues, escalating matters and recommending solutions when appropriate. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-certified program. At least 5 years of trademark prosecution experience, including preparation and submission of documents to the USPTO. Hands-on experience preparing trademark applications, declarations of use, and supporting specimens. Strong knowledge of trademark searching, including experience using the USPTO database and other trademark search platforms. Experience retrieving, reviewing, and analyzing trademark dockets. Strong legal writing skills, including the ability to draft concise communications such as cease-and-desist letters and correspondence with outside counsel. Strong verbal communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently, manage multiple matters, and meet strict deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, database management, and legal software applications. Preferred Skills Experience supporting trademark disputes and investigations. Experience working directly with outside counsel and senior legal stakeholders. Strong project management and multitasking capabilities. Ability to analyze legal information, identify issues, and recommend practical solutions. Experience working in a corporate legal or intellectual property environment.
