- Seeking an experienced Paralegal/Legal Assistant to provide overall support to attorney in areas of commercial real estate and business transactions, and daily tasks associated with small law office.
Preference:
4 or 5 days a week, starting at 9:00 a.m. for 6 hours a day (hours may vary per agreement). Possible full time after initial period if desired, and possible limited/partial remote in the future ( after a solid work history is established) . Competitive pay based on experience and skill level.Requirements/Skills include:
- Experience in at least one of these areas: commercial real estate (or solid residential real estate experience with ability to quickly adapt to commercial real estate) or business transactions (formation, organization, buy/sell assets or interests/stock)
- Microsoft Suite and Dropbox (ability to learn Dropbox); strong skills in word processing and Excel.
- Experience with SoftPro (older HUD version for commercial transactions) or at least settlement statement preparation experience with ability to quickly learn SoftPro.
- Ability to draft transaction documents based on templates or similar documents for attorney review.
- Ability to research registries, tax records, Odyssey/Enterprise system, and Secretary of State sites (at least some familiarity/basic knowledge)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (grammar and detail critical).
- Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage workload with minimal supervision.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- NC Notary Public, or willing to take course/be certified.
- Punctuality; strong work ethic.

candidate may elect to work as independent contractor or transition to W2 employment after initial period of time to confirm long term employment. Pay depends on experience/performance- excellent for the right candidate.
