About This Role Vázquez Law Office is seeking an experienced and highly capable Paralegal to support a sophisticated business law and litigation practice on a part-time basis. What You'll Do In this role, you will support litigation and business transactional matters with a high degree of ownership and attention to detail.
Responsibilities include:
Draft, format, proofread, and finalize litigation and transactional documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and correspondence. Conduct legal research and analysis, including Westlaw CoCounsel searches, cite-checking authorities, and summarizing findings for attorney review. Prepare, file, and serve court documents while ensuring compliance with applicable rules, deadlines, and filing procedures. Manage client and court correspondence with professionalism, accuracy, and sound judgment. Collect, review, and organize client materials, discovery productions, and case documents. Maintain litigation binders, exhibits, case files, and timelines for hearings, mediations, depositions, and trial preparation. Manage docket calendars, deadlines, case tracking, and Off Docket status updates with a high level of reliability and accuracy. Assist with depositions, including preparation of materials and summarizing deposition transcripts. Support witness and client interviews and prepare clear, concise factual summaries for attorney use. Coordinate discovery, including document collection, review, organization, and production tracking. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications 2-5+ years of paralegal or advanced legal support experience in litigation, business law, or a comparable legal environment Demonstrated ability to independently manage active legal matters, including drafting, filing, discovery support, and deadline tracking Strong proficiency in drafting, proofreading, and formatting legal documents with a high level of accuracy and consistency Experience managing multiple case files, deadlines, and competing priorities with minimal supervision Strong understanding of court filing procedures, legal correspondence, and litigation workflow Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal document management systems Preferred Qualifications Experience with litigation discovery, cite-checking, court filings, and docket management Familiarity with Westlaw CoCounsel or similar legal research tools Experience summarizing depositions, managing exhibits, and preparing trial materials Exposure to business law, civil litigation, or a mixed practice environment Familiarity with modern legal technology, workflow systems, or AI-assisted legal tools Why This Opportunity Is Different This is not a high-volume production paralegal role.
