  • $65,000 (DOE) A Charleston-based law firm is seeking an experienced Corporate Litigation Legal Assistant to support their practice.
This position offers the opportunity to work closely with leadership while also assisting with overflow litigation matters as needed. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in defense-side litigation and is comfortable managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Responsibilities Manage and maintain litigation case files in both electronic and physical formats, ensuring organization and accessibility at all times. Track and coordinate all case-related deadlines, hearings, and court dates to ensure full compliance with state and federal requirements. Prepare, format, and proofread a variety of legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence. Handle electronic filing of documents through South Carolina state and federal court systems with accuracy and timeliness. Provide direct support to attorney, including scheduling, trial preparation, and overall case coordination. Assist with administrative functions such as time entry, billing support, and other operational tasks as needed. Requirements Minimum of three years of experience working as a litigation legal assistant is required. Prior experience supporting defense-side litigation, such as insurance or corporate defense. Demonstrated proficiency with South Carolina state and federal e-filing systems is required. Working knowledge of the South Carolina Rules of Civil Procedure and federal court procedures is expected. Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software, are necessary. Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage competing deadlines, and attention to detail.
