Role Description The Paralegal will support attorneys with day-to-day case management, including drafting and organizing legal documents, maintaining case files, and tracking deadlines. Responsibilities include conducting legal research, reviewing and summarizing documents, preparing correspondence, and assisting with discovery and trial preparation. The role also involves direct communication with clients, courts, and other parties to schedule appointments, gather information, and coordinate case-related activities. This is a full-time, on-site position based in the Charleston, South Carolina Metropolitan Area, requiring consistent in-office collaboration with attorneys and staff. Qualifications Strong foundation in law and legal procedures, with the ability to support attorneys across various practice areas. Proficiency in legal document preparation, including drafting pleadings, motions, contracts, and other legal correspondence. Experience in research and document review, including analyzing case materials, summarizing findings, and organizing evidence. Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, attorneys, court personnel, and other parties in a professional manner. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Comfort using legal case management software and standard office applications (e.g., word processing and document management tools). Prior paralegal or legal assistant experience in a law firm or legal setting is mandatory. Paralegal certification or an associate's or bachelor's degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, or a related field is beneficial. Prior litigation experience preferred, not required.
