Job Description
Job Duties:
- Coordinates the provisions of legal assistance while building and maintaining statewide networks connecting Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs), legal providers, and private attorneys.
- Develops and provides technical assistance, training, and other support to South Carolina AAA's, legal assistance providers, ombudsman programs and adult protective services as appropriate.
- Collaborates on activities designed to enhance access to legal assistance and educational resources for older adults in South Carolina.
- Assists older individuals in understanding, utilizing, and maintaining their rights authorized by law in reference to financial management, risk of guardianship, conservatorship, and other fiduciary proceedings.
- Works to improve the quality and quantity of legal services provided to older individuals in a state capacity.
