Pleasant law firm focused primarily on family law matters, including divorce, custody, support, guardianship, and high-conflict domestic litigation seeks an experienced, detail-orientated paralegal to join our team and support a fast-paced and client-centered practice. We are committed to providing exceptional legal advocacy with compassion, professionalism, and strategic guidance. Position Overview The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and experienced in managing family law cases from intake through resolution. This individual should be comfortable working directly with clients during emotionally difficult times while maintaining professionalism, discretion, and efficiency. Responsibilities Type, review, and file family court pleadings, motions, affidavits, financial declarations, subpoenas, and discovery requests/responses Manage case files and maintain deadlines, court calendars, and hearing schedules Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and third parties professionally and effectively Assist attorneys with trial preparation, mediation preparation, and hearing organization Organize and summarize discovery materials, financial records, and evidentiary documents Coordinate service of process and monitor case progress Prepare client correspondence and maintain accurate billing entries Assist with intake of new clients and case onboarding Support high-conflict and complex family law matters with attention to detail and discretion Qualifications Minimum 2-5 years of paralegal experience , preferably in family law Strong knowledge of family court procedures and filing requirements Experience drafting legal documents independently Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize effectively Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with clients experiencing high stress Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal practice management software South Carolina family law experience preferred Paralegal certification preferred, but not required Ideal Candidate Calm under pressure and highly dependable Professional, empathetic, and client-focused Self-motivated and able to work independently Comfortable in a fast-paced litigation environment Interested in being part of a collaborative and growing law practice Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Performance bonus opportunities Paid time off and holidays Professional development support Opportunity for long-term growth within the firm To Apply Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter describing your family law experience and why you are interested in joining our firm.
