PARALEGAL / CLOSING SPECIALIST
Full-Time | In-Office | Mount Pleasant, SC Southstar Capital, a leading factoring company specializing in accounts receivable financing, is seeking an experienced Paralegal or Legal Assistant to join our team. This is a full-time, in-office role offering hands-on involvement in commercial finance transactions, loan documentation, and corporate legal matters within a fast-paced financial services environment. About the Role This position plays a key role in supporting staff, executive leadership, and counsel on legal matters related to commercial loan, asset based lending, and factoring transactions, client accounts, and collections. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment with both legal and financial documentation. Key Responsibilities Review and organize legal and financial documents related to commercial finance transactions Assist in structuring and documenting new financing facilities and client onboarding Support corporate counsel with commercial, contract, and compliance matters Coordinate with third-party attorneys on collections, litigation, and recovery efforts Manage client and debtor communications related to legal and account matters Prepare demand letters, legal notices, and collection-related documentation Conduct legal research and assist with drafting agreements and amendments Prepare, file, and maintain legal and corporate records (digital and physical) Handle UCC filings, lien searches, and related secured transaction documentation Maintain legal databases and track ongoing legal and collection activity Provide administrative and operational support to staff and counsel Qualifications Paralegal certificate or bachelor's degree required Experience in commercial finance, factoring, banking, or collections strongly preferred Familiarity with UCC filings, secured transactions, or creditor-side work is a plus Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, transactional environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $70,000 - $120,000 commensurate with experience Comprehensive benefits package, including: Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan Paid time off (PTO) Profit-sharing plan Performance Bonus
