Experienced:
Law office experience is strongly preferred, but not required. Office Culture Our office values diversity and is LGBT friendly. We serve a very diverse clientele and strive to make all clients feel welcome.Job responsibilities will include:
- E-mail, phone communication, and in-person meetings with clients.
- Primarily assisting attorneys with estate planning and estate administration work, but also may include some work in bankruptcy and family law.
- Assisting with the drafting of estate planning documents and other legal documents to include pleadings and correspondence.
- Preparing real estate deeds.
- Assisting attorneys with workflow, follow up, and case management.
- Manage office calendars and deadlines.
- Using the firm case management system (Clio).
- Copying, mailing, e-mailing, scanning, and filing documents.
- Proofreading documents.
- Assisting with record keeping and firm billing.
- Assisting with the creation of and implementation of streamlined office systems to increase efficiency.
Requirements and Criteria:
- High School Diploma; some college experience is preferred but not required;
- Minimum of one year's work experience in any field;
- Experience in an office setting is preferred and law office experience is strongly preferred;
- Experience in estate planning is preferred but not required;
- Ability to learn quickly, take direction well, and pay close attention to detail;
- Ability to remain calm when in stressful situations;
- Strong professional communication skills;
- Punctuality and dependability;
- Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel;
- Strong computer competence and proficiency with technology;
- Ability to work independently and be proactive;
- Valid Driver's License; and
- Two references from employers or if you have only worked in one place, one reference from an employer and one personal reference.
