A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Job Description

THE SENTER LAW FIRM P.C.
is hiring a legal assistant. The ideal candidate will have experience incase preparation from beginning to end; strong communication skills; the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, attorneys, and staff; the ability to self-manage and meet deadlines.
Education :
Some college education is preferable or commensurate experience. Responsibilities Perform full range of tasks from case inception through case closure.• Maintain and monitor court deadlines for assigned cases and take ownership of case calendars. Prepare case summaries and timelines. Prepare drafts of pleadings, notices, and motions. Prepare deposition notices; organize, maintain and prepare deposition materials,• exhibits and summaries. Track and manage discovery, including document productions. Participate in case strategy meetings. Handle routine calls and correspondence to courts, outside attorneys, and clients. Proactively use most current technology to further teamwork, client service, and efficiency. Qualifications Ability to conduct research using various research tools, including the Internet, LexisNexis. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Familiarity with CLIO Legal Billing System is a plus Strong sense of accountability, taking ownership over projects and responsibilities and resolving issues proactively. High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills. Ability to assess information, anticipate issues and outcomes, and make effective decisions. Ability to manage multiple requests, assess priorities, and achieve solutions under deadlines. Strong written and oral communication skills. Excellent teamwork skills and a strong client service orientation. Flexibility to work overtime as required.
