Midkiff, Muncie & Ross, PC, seeks an experienced Legal Assistant/Paralegal with 3 to 5 years to undertake a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. Candidate will work under the supervision of an attorney and will also provide support in assigned legal cases. The goal is to sustain efficiency of all office procedures and case management so as to guarantee reliability and consistency. Responsibilities Provide administrative support to one or more lawyers Transcribe dictation Process incoming and outgoing mail Both paper and digital filing Effectively communicate with clients, colleagues and partners Facilitate the meeting of deadlines by keeping multiple agendas and provide timely reminders Obtain, organize, and analyze medical records and bills Prepare and issue subpoenas for medical records, employment records, and other relevant documents; track and follow up on responses Prepare detailed medical summaries, chronologies, and timelines for attorney review Manage case files, maintain document organization, and ensure deadlines are met Coordinate with clients, insurance adjusters, medical providers, and expert witnesses Schedule depositions, hearings, and independent medical examinations (IMEs) Summarize deposition transcripts and other case-related materials Perform legal research as needed Skills Proven experience as a legal secretary and/or paralegal Knowledge of constitution, legal terminology, regulations and court system Knowledge of MS Office and the ability to work with legal technology (court-filing computer systems, transcription software, etc.) Working knowledge of litigation management software systems is a plus Proficiency in English Outstanding time-management and typing skills Ability to multitask and being comfortable dealing with a diverse pool of people Please submit a resume and cover letter with salary requirements.
