Law Office of Gilberto Hinojosa & Associates P.C. | Experienced Litigation Paralegal / Legal Assistant

net Our firm is seeking an experienced, organized, and self-motivated Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our growing litigation practice. The successful candidate will primarily manage the firm's personal injury docket while assisting with assigned criminal and civil litigation matters. We are looking for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to providing exceptional client service. Schedule

  • One-hour unpaid lunch break
  • Approximately 35 hours per week Primary Responsibilities
  • Independently manage assigned cases from intake through resolution under attorney supervision.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, insurance adjusters, medical providers, court personnel, and opposing counsel.
  • Request, review, and organize medical records and billing.
  • Prepare demand packages and maintain settlement documentation.
  • Assist with assigned criminal and civil litigation matters.
  • Draft legal correspondence, pleadings, discovery, and other legal documents.
  • Coordinate hearings, depositions, mediations, and client meetings.
  • Maintain case calendars and proactively monitor deadlines.
  • Open new client files, scan documents, and organize both electronic and physical files.
  • Update the firm's case tracking spreadsheet and maintain accurate case records.
  • Assist with trial preparation, hearing notebooks, and exhibit organization.
  • Maintain confidentiality while exercising sound judgment and professionalism. Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal required.
  • Personal injury experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Texas state court litigation and e-filing.
  • Working knowledge of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure is preferred.
  • Experience using TxDocs and LexisNexis is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Professional, dependable, and team-oriented.
Pay:
From $15.00 per hour
