About the
Firm:
We are a small, client-focused law firm dedicated to advocating for individuals who have been wrongfully terminated, discriminated against, or injured due to the negligence or misconduct of others. Our practice centers on labor and employment disputes, civil rights violations, and personal injury claims. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Assistant who is eager to contribute meaningfully to our mission of delivering justice and empowering clients.Position Overview:
The Legal Assistant will play an essential role in ensuring the efficient operation of our legal practice. This position requires a highly organized and self-motivated individual capable of managing a variety of legal and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have the ability to anticipate attorney needs, manage deadlines across multiple matters, and provide excellent client service in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities:
Draft, proofread, and file legal pleadings, motions, discovery requests (ROGs, RFAs, RFPs), and correspondence with precision and in compliance with court rules. File documents electronically in various platforms including state (eFileTexas), federal (CM/ECF), and administrative agency portals (EEOC, DOL, TWC, etc.). Conduct and manage initial client intakes, obtain essential case information, and maintain regular communication with clients regarding case status and deadlines. Assist in the preparation and review of discovery responses, including formatting, compiling exhibits, and managing deadlines. Maintain and organize both physical and digital case files in a systematic and accessible manner. Input and update case-related data into the firm's case management system (e.g., Clio, MyCase, or similar). Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, depositions, hearings, and coordinate with courts and opposing counsel as needed. Track deadlines for litigation and administrative filings to ensure timely compliance. Perform administrative tasks such as copying, scanning, billing support, and handling mail.Qualifications & Experience:
Previous experience as a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary, or in a legal clerical capacity preferred but not required. Familiarity with civil litigation processes, particularly in labor and employment law or personal injury, is advantageous. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with legal case management software preferred. Exceptional organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines efficiently and independently. Strong verbal and written communication skills necessary for effective interaction with clients, courts, and other parties. Professional demeanor and ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.Ideal Candidate Traits:
