Qualifications
  • Phone etiquette and proven work experience as legal assistant or legal secretary.
  • Familiarity with law, legal procedures and protocols, and court filing system.
  • Bilingual.
  • Computer literacy
  • Working knowledge of case management software.
  • Excellent secretarial and organizational skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure. Responsibilities
  • The ideal candidate will provide administrative support to our legal staff, assist in preparing legal documents, maintain client files, and ensure the smooth operation of the legal office.
  • The legal secretary will play a crucial role in facilitating communication between attorneys, clients, and other parties involved in legal proceedings.
  • Assist attorneys in editing and formatting legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, contracts, and agreements.
  • Maintain and organize physical and electronic files, including client records, correspondence, and case documents.
  • Manage attorney calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings and court appearances.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, potential clients, court personnel, and other attorneys to schedule hearings, depositions, and meetings.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including mail, emails, and phone calls.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, scanning, and faxing documents.
  • Conduct legal research using online resources and databases to support attorneys in case preparation.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information and legal matters.
  • Collaborate with other legal support staff to ensure the efficient operation of the legal office.
