Job Description
Assists attorneys on a wide variety of projects in a professional setting. Greets visitors by telephone and in person and ascertain nature of business, provide assistance or referral, and explain policies and procedures; Composes and types letters, reports and memos from rough drafts, notes or verbal instructions; Utilizes a variety of computer software to produce legal documents; Schedules appointments and maintains calendar; Opens, reviews and routes mail according to contents; Maintains department files and records; Reviews and proofreads legal documents to ensure accuracy and corrections.
Additional Duties :
Performs related work as assigned. Completion of a high school diploma or the equivalent with an additional one to three years of responsible secretarial or receptionist experience or any combination of relevant education and experience which provides the following:Knowledge of:
Professional office practices and procedures; Computer principles and procedures; Proper telephone etiquette; General knowledge of municipal government organization and services; Maintain confidentiality.Ability to:
Possess word processing skills; Deal tactfully with citizens and elected officials; Communicate efficiently with others; Maintain positive working relationships; Spell and use correct grammar; Multitask on a variety of projects; Pay attention to detail. Physical Requirements Frequently stand and walk during the shift; Occasionally climb ladders, stairs and inclined surfaces; Occasionally carry up to 10 pounds; Occasionally push and pull objects; Occasionally flex upper trunk forward, partial flexing of knees; Frequently rotate upper trunk to the right or left while sitting or standing; Place arms above, at or below shoulder height.Similar jobs in Lubbock, TX
