A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Job Description

We are a small law firm located in Uvalde, Texas. We are looking for an employee that would be a vital part of our small office with a wide variety of daily tasks spanning from client communication, to document review and drafting of legal forms.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Keeps cases organized by establishing and organizing files; monitoring calendars; meeting deadlines; documenting actions; inputting information into file database and case management software; confirming case status with attorney. Keeps clients informed by maintaining contact; communicating case progress. Supports case preparation by monitoring and obtaining discovery responses. Answers phones. Maintains billing logs.
Qualifications and Skills:
Organization, Planning, Attention to Detail, Confidentiality, Dependability, Client Confidentiality, Microsoft Word and Excel. Legal Experience Preferred.
Pay:
$10.00 - $15.00 per hour
