We are currently seeking an experienced Litigation paralegal to join our Richmond office. This position is ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills. Qualifications Four-year degree and/or certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program 1-3 years of litigation paralegal experience Strong oral and written communication skills Professional demeanor with excellent attention to detail Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities efficiently Essential Functions and Responsibilities Review initial file materials for immediate needs, make sure all tabs are completed in their entirety and are correct Add rules sets, add initial dockets and client guidelines dockets, deadlines, extensions and general paralegal tasks with attorney supervision and input Monitor service on our client, add Service Perfected docket and confirm answer due date Prepare Civil Summonses (regular and 3 rd party) when needed and serve/monitor for service of process on new parties as directed by attorney Interview witnesses and client(s) regarding facts of case and summarize the same; Prepare deposition subpoenas as needed with attorney input Prepare discovery responses, with attorney supervision and input, organize and coordinate document production at least 5 days before due date Follow-up on outstanding discovery responses Review incoming mail for immediate needs and paralegal tasks Request medical records, personnel files, Freedom of Information documents, project files, with attorney input Review document production for additional needs and possible summary Prepare medical chronologies; summarize production Assist in preparation for depositions, mediations and trial Prepare settlement documents at attorney's request with attorney provided detail Follow up to ensure executed and filed settlement documents are received Other billable tasks as needed Cooperates with co-workers Responds politely to internal staff, clients, vendors, etc. Works as a member of a team Accepts change in a productive manner Performs other duties as necessary or assigned If you're ready to take the next step in your career with a firm that values innovation and a supportive workplace culture, we encourage you to apply to McAngus Goudelock & Courie!
