A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Job Description

Glasser and Glasser, P.L.C., an "AV"-rated firm in downtown Norfolk, Virginia, is seeking to add a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team! Attention to detail is a must to succeed as a part of our team. Position duties include but are not limited to:
  • Prepare Discovery and Respond to Discovery pleadings per attorney instructions
  • Prepare Motions per attorney instructions
  • Request all documentation needed from Clients per their SOP's
  • Prepare Business Record Affidavits
  • Prepare Settlement Agreement
  • Ensure all pleadings are scanned, mailed and filed with the Courts
  • Coordinate witnesses for trials per attorney and instructions and client SOP's
  • Updating files per docket results
  • Assist in responding to emails and status update requests.
  • Other duties that may be assigned.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework a plus Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate excellent computer and organizational skills Proficiency with
Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel Pay:
$21.00 per hour
