Job Description

Krause Estate Planning & Elder Law Center is seeking a friendly, compassionate, and organized Legal Assistant to support our legal team while providing a welcoming experience for clients and visitors. This role combines client hospitality with administrative and legal support, including document preparation, file management, scheduling, and witnessing and notarizing documents.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Warmly greet clients and visitors, obtain their names, provide seating and refreshments, and notify the appropriate attorney or Navigator of their arrival Prepare, print, assemble, scan, and maintain legal documents and client files Witness and notarize documents as needed Maintain attorney calendars and schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments Assist with estate plan binders and client pick-up appointments Communicate professionally with clients, prospective clients, and vendors by phone and email Prepare meeting rooms and help maintain an organized, welcoming office environment Maintain office and kitchen supplies and ensure printers, scanners, and other office equipment remain stocked and operational Perform other administrative and legal support duties as assigned
WHAT'S REQUIRED?
High school diploma or equivalent required Up to two years of legal office or related experience preferred Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail Friendly, compassionate, and professional demeanor with a strong commitment to client service Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a busy office environment Comfortable working in a Microsoft Windows environment and using email, calendars, document management systems, and networked scanners and printers Must be a commissioned Notary Public or able to obtain a Notary Public commission within 30 days of hire

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is an office-based role that will work Monday through Friday at our Brookfield, WI location during regular business hours.

Krause Estate Planning & Elder Law Center offers comprehensive estate planning and elder law services for a wide range of matters, including wills, trusts, and Medicaid planning. We have locations in Oregon, Brookfield, and Madison, WI.
Pay:
$15.00 - $20.00 per hour
