The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing competing priorities while working closely with attorneys and clients. Responsibilities Assist attorneys throughout all phases of civil litigation, personal injury cases, employment disputes and criminal defense matters Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents Coordinate discovery, including document collection, organization, and production Maintain case files, calendars, deadlines, and litigation databases Assist with deposition, mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation Prepare exhibits, deposition materials, trial notebooks, and other case materials Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, experts, and other professionals Conduct legal research and assist with factual investigation as needed Manage multiple matters while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality Anticipate attorney needs and take initiative to keep cases moving forward Qualifications 3+ years of substantive law firm experience in general civil litigation, and criminal law Strong knowledge of Wisconsin state court and federal court filing procedures Excellent written and verbal communication skills Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment Proficiency with Microsoft Office, and experience with document management software, NetDocs and/or Caret Legal, is a benefit, but we can train.
