Parking Enforcement Officer South Florida Parking Authority Miami, FL Job Details Part-time | Full-time $15 - $20 an hour 5 hours ago Qualifications Community outreach Parking lot monitoring Traffic enforcement Patrolling Local ordinances Full Job Description Overnight Parking Enforcement Agent The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that everyone is complying with the specific property parking rules and regulations. Please note that each property has different restrictions. The agent must ensure that no one is in violation of any of the rules listed on the [Property Name or Agreement Date] agreement.

Parking enforcement duties revolve around maintaining traffic flow, ensuring public safety, and managing parking turnover by monitoring parking lots and enforcing local parking ordinances. These professionals usually work for municipal Management companies, universities, or private parking authorities, operating either on foot or in specialized vehicles.
Core Responsibilities Monitoring Parking Zones:
Patrol assigned routes to check for vehicles exceeding time limits, parking in restricted areas, or violating local codes.
Issuing Warning :
Manual warnings tickets for illegally parked vehicles, documenting infractions with photographs and notes time stamped
Vehicle Immobilization and Abatement:
Identify vehicle "scofflaws" with excessive unpaid fines to install wheel clamps ("boots"), or coordinate towing for abandoned, blocked, or hazardous vehicles.
Public Education and Assistance:
Act as a community ambassador by answering questions about rules, providing directions, and explaining local ordinances politely.
Equipment Maintenance:
Inspect and report false parking decals , forged permits , broken signs, or obscured curb markings.
Legal Support:
Attend administrative meetings with property management and board members. Common Violations Enforced Expired parking pass or exceeded time limits Parking in fire lanes, near fire hydrants, or blocking driveways or blocking trash gates Unauthorized use of commercial loading zones or disabled parking spaces without disabled placard present Vehicles parked with excessively expired registrations or abandoned on jacks. Property Walk off Modern Technology Used License Plate Recognition (LPR): Vehicle-mounted cameras scan plates automatically to track time limits and check for violations.
