As a Refuse Truck Operator, you will be responsible for the operation of a refuse collection truck and/or other assigned equipment. Informs supervisors of any vehicle problems. Completes all pre-check forms. Operates and maintains assigned equipment on specified route. Operates forklift. Cleans cul-de-sacs and other curbed areas inaccessible to street sweeper. Reports any violations of city codes to supervisor. Enforces safety regulations and inspects work areas for possible hazard and parking violations. Cites street sweeping zone parking violations. Responds to customer inquires and refers customer complains to supervisor. Cleans and inspects vehicles at end of day. Completes daily reports, work orders and/or daily log and maintains required paperwork Performs other related duties as assigned. High school diploma or GED equivalent; with two (2) years of medium and/or heavy equipment operation and maintenance experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess and maintain a valid state Class B Commercial driver's license with an acceptable driving history. This is a safety sensitive and critical workforce position.
