doc Information for Applicants 2026.docx Civil Enforcement Officer Job description We are currently seeking a highly motivated Civil Enforcement Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for enforcing parking regulations, issuing tickets to vehicles parked in contravention of the regulations and providing excellent customer service to the public. You will patrol the car parks, providing a courteous service with effective communication skills, assisting members of the public when needed. You will be able to complete a range of physical tasks working outdoors in all weathers. Full uniform and training will be provided, including an NVQ2 qualification in Civil Enforcement Operations and Conflict Resolution. Applicants should possess excellent communication skills and have experience in dealing with the public. The successful candidate will operate as part of a team, but the ability to work independently is essential in what can be a physically and mentally demanding role. You will be required to work on a rota / shift system which includes weekend and evening working (including Bank Holidays). You will receive weekend / evening enhancements where applicable.
Key responsibilities:
  • Patrol designated areas on foot / by vehicle to monitor and enforce parking regulations, issuing parking tickets to vehicles parked in contravention of the City of Lincoln Council's 'Off Street' Parking Places Order under the Traffic Management Act 2004.
  • Provide information and guidance to members of the public regarding parking regulations / restrictions.
  • Report any defects or damage to parking equipment or signage.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete daily reports of enforcement activities.
  • Ensure that the car parks are kept safe and clean for users.
  • Work effectively with colleagues. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
  • Experience of recording and maintaining accurate records.
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in a non-discriminatory manner, in accordance with Council's Equality, Diversity & Human Rights Policy.
  • Experience of using own initiative and able to work as part of a team / on your own.
