OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF JOB
To assist and enforce the parking patterns and parking ordinance on County Property.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
High School Diploma.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Some experience in a maintenance environment preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB
1. Assist employees, associates and visitors while regulating parking and traffic flows in designated County parking areas. 2. Issue parking lot passes during special event situations. 3. Greet all persons in a courteous manner. 4. Patrol County parking lots and/or designated County parking areas by foot or authorized form of conveyance. 5. Utilize handheld Automatic License Plate Reader (ALPR) to authenticate paid parking and issue tickets to those in violation of the County parking ordinance. 6. Provide periodic services to the kiosks including general maintenance needs. 7. Assist in the collection and deposit of monies from County parking kiosks. 8. Maintain records as directed. 9. Attend and testify at District Magistrate hearings as required. 10. Required to work non-traditional schedule to include weekends and holidays.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
1. Must be able to speak and understand the English language in an understandable manner in order to carry out essential functions of job. 2. Must possess good communication, interpersonal skills and writing skills. 3. Must possess the ability to function independently, have flexibility and the ability to work effectively with customers, co-workers and the general public. 4. Must be friendly and possess outstanding customer service skills. 5. Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality in regard to customers and County/Court related information and records. 6. Must possess the technical knowledge to operate ALPR's and kiosks and carryout general maintenance procedures. 7. Must possess general knowledge of numerical and alphabetical filing principles and practices and the ability to apply them to essential job duties. 8. Must possess knowledge of standard office practices and procedures.
WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Works outdoors in various weather conditions. 2. Works with above average exposure to dirt/dust/fumes/odors due to the high volume of combustion engine vehicles transiting county parking zones. 3. Works with above average exposure to noise, stress and regular disruptions. 4. Relative to duties, there is exposure to all weather conditions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Must possess good public relation skills. 2. Must possess the ability to record, convey and present information, explain procedures and follow instructions. 3. Must be able to write legibly. 4. Must be able to stand and walk continuously throughout the workday when reviewing all kiosks a minimum of two to three times each shift. 5. Must be able to sit intermittently throughout the workday with frequent periods of carrying, overhead reaching, and grasping with occasional twisting, bending, kneeling, and pushing/pulling necessary to carry out duties of job. 6. Dexterity requirements range from coordinated movements of fingers/hands for operating equipment and writing work, to simple dexterity of feet/legs; torso as necessary to carry out essential job duties. 7. Medium work with occasional lifting/carry of objects with a maximum weight of fifty pounds.
