The mission of the Department of Corrections is to be a public safety resource for Arkansas families by providing professional management solutions and evidence-based rehabilitative initiatives for offenders.

All DOC positions are designated as Safety Sensitive Positions and are subject to random drug testing pursuant to the Secretarial Directive governing Personnel Drug Testing. Medical marijuana usage, as defined in Amendment 93 of the Arkansas Constitution, prohibits Personnel in a Safety-Sensitive Position from the use of medical marijuana even if they are qualifying patient under the amendment and/or hold a registry identification card. Department Personnel are prohibited from the use or possession of a medicinal marijuana card pursuant to this policy and state law.

Job Summary

The Community Supervision Officer III is the highest-ranking non-supervisory officer responsible for managing high-risk offender caseloads, mentoring junior officers, and ensuring compliance with Arkansas state laws and community supervision policies. This position requires advanced expertise in offender supervision, case management, and risk assessment.

Primary Responsibilities

Oversee a complex caseload of high-risk individuals, including violent offenders, repeat offenders, and those requiring intensive supervision. Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop case plans tailored to offender needs, utilizing evidence-based practices. Monitor compliance with court-ordered conditions, including restitution, treatment programs, and community service. Conduct field visits, employment verifications, and home inspections to ensure offender adherence to supervision requirements. Investigate violations of supervision conditions, determine appropriate responses, and recommend necessary actions to courts or parole boards.
