Perform assessments of defendants and clients who are referred by the court. 2. Interview and evalue defendants pending release to determine eligibility for placement in a community supervision program while in pretrial or post-conviction show cause stus. 3. Gher and verify informion and research relevant automed systems to obtain criminal justice history. 4. Supervise defendants following release and intervene as necessary to ensure compliance with pretrial obligions. 5. Develop individualized supervision plans and review conditions of release and program participion requirements with defendants. 6. Prepare and maintain electronic records of case activity, regular stistical reports and other reports in accordance with PSA policy and procedures. 7. Represent the Pretrial Services Agency, testifying when necessary or submitting reports to court on the defendant's pretrial compliance and program participion. Maximum Entry Age :
This position is covered under the special provision for law enforcement retirement. By law, applicants for such law enforcement positions must be between 21 and 37 years old to be considered for initial appointment (th is, first appointment to a federal law enforcement position). Qualificions To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic professional requirements, and specialized experience requirement below. To qualify the GL-07 grade level, applicant must have one (1) year of specialized experience reled to the duties of the position th equipped you with the skills to perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as experience working with individuals in a criminal justice environment obtaining basic informion and using basic computer applicions, OR Substitution of Educion for Experience the GL-07 grade level: one (1) full year of gradue level educion, master's, or equivalent gradue degree; OR Superior Academic Achievement (SAA). SAA is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership. 1. 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on the official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of educion, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or 2. 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or 3. Election to membership in a nional scholastic honor society. To qualify the GL-9 level, applicant must have one (1) year of specialized experience reled to the duties of the position th equipped you with the skills to perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as working with individuals in a criminal justice environment explaining procedures and obtaining informion; interviewing, monitoring, and evaluing clients; assessing clients; making recommendions in court; routine use of computer applicions and/or law enforcement or comparable dabase systems. Substitution of Educion for Experience for GL-9 : Two (2) years of progressively higher-level gradue educion leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent gradue degree.
