Summary:
The mission of the Idaho Department of Correction (IDOC) is to create a model correctional system that provides equitable access to programming and opportunities that reflect a community experience, foster connections, and restore victims of crime. IDOC has a vacancy for a full-time Probation & Parole Specialist/Technical Records Specialist 2 at the District 7 location in Idaho Falls, ID. The incumbent is responsible for assisting probation and parole officers to make complex decisions regarding the care and supervision of individuals under the supervision of probation and parole in Idaho.
Responsibilities:
Perform diverse support functions to probation and parole officers. Daily interactions with individuals on felony supervision in order to address behavior. Provide guidance, referrals, and general assistance to individuals under IDOC community supervision. Frequent contact with internal and external customers, which requires good public relation skills. Function with some independence and exercise discretion in applying policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
Your resume needs to clearly articulate how your skills, education and experience meet qualifications below- Monitoring record systems to identify and correct errors. Typically gained from at least 1 year of full-time work experience where monitoring records system, identifying problems and conducting errors was primary responsibility of the job. Interpreting, explaining, and applying laws, regulations, and complex policies for multiple or highly specialized. programs. Typically gained from at least 1 year of full-time work experience that included interpreting and applying a variety of difficult rules, regulations, or policies to determine compliance or eligibility and explaining decisions to others as a primary responsibility of the job. Analyzing information and researching a variety of sources to identify and resolve problems or issues. Typically gained from at least 1 year of full-time work experience performing extensive research and analysis that required in-depth program knowledge. Entering and retrieving data using a computerized record system. Typically gained from 6 months experience in a work setting entering and retrieving data in a database or other computer systems. Experience composing and proofreading business correspondence. Typically gained from at least 1 year of full-time work experience in an that included composing and proofreading a variety of business documents on a regular basis.
