Job Description

Overview Share your recovery experience to help others in your role as a Recovery Support Specialist in our court treatment programs, which include Drug Court and Recovery Court (a mental health court). Recovery Support Specialists will work directly with a multidisciplinary staff that includes many departments of the court house including: State's Attorney's Office, Public Defender's Office, Probation Department, Jail Staff, Police, and Judges among others to help clients address mental health and substance use related issues. If you treasure working on a team or wish to learn more about the intersection of treatment and the criminal justice system this is the job for you. Position is full-time and is based in Bloomington, IL. Responsibilities Help individuals to overcome barriers to recovery by addressing obstacles and by monitoring, consulting, and encouraging during the recovery process. Provide stage-appropriate recovery education. Link clients to recovery communities and ancillary services. Develop natural supports and sobriety-based activities to support long-term recovery. Support interventions that are client-centered, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, strengths-based, and evidence-based. Promote the recovery model of treatment including trauma-informed care, hope, respect, empowerment, health/wellness, and spirituality/connectedness. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent and CADC or CRSS certification in good standing with the State of Illinois OR high school diploma or equivalent, five years' work experience, and must obtain CADC or CRSS certification within 2.5 years of hire. Must have personal substance use or mental health recovery experience and be willing to appropriately discuss recovery journey. Ability to work with persons in their natural environment. Good oral and written communication skills. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and an electronic medical record. The anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $19.00 - $20.00 an hour.
