Education :

REQUIRED

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, preferably with a major in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or related social science.

Statutory Requirements:

This position performs all duties as described in 730 ILCS 110/12, including investigations and supervision of probationers. This position is responsible for ensuring that all orders of the Court are successfully completed and reporting progress and/or violations to the Court.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Supervise and monitor a caseload and comply with effective caseworks model of supervision Perform a variety of field work such as conducting home visits and referring offenders to community agencies Working closely with the Marion County State's Attorney, Sheriff's Department, Jail, City & Municipal Police Departments, and all community & state agencies as well as treatment programs Conduct Presentence Investigations and file reports with the Marion County Circuit Clerk according to state statue Observe urine specimen collection and conduct drug/alcohol testing Appear in Court and testify as needed Perform duties as assigned per an officer on-call schedule to handle after hours calls concerning Electronic Monitored Home Confinement, Juvenile Detention Screenings and Domestic Violence Screening Assessments Perform evidence based cognitive behavioral groups as assigned Perform other duties as directed including those mandated by the

Illinois Compiled Statues Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills; requires knowledge of substance abuse, psychological and mental health issues, and be able to identify physiological human conditions and make appropriate referrals. Must have experience and proficiency in the use of computers, word processing and typing. Requires excellent organizational and time management skills. Must be able to work productively with frequent interruptions. Must be able to conform to departmental attendance policies & procedures. Must be able to attend required trainings and maintain a minimum of 20 training hours per year. Must be comfortable working with offenders and their families, victims of crime, co-workers, court personnel, law enforcement, and community members.

Special Requirements:

Must be a resident of Illinois and reside in Marion County or adjoining county within 90 days of appointment; must be on the employment eligibility list maintained by the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts. Must have a valid driver's license and pass a criminal history inquiry.
