A Probation Officer or Correctional Treatment Specialist supervises criminal offenders who have been placed on probation as part of a court sentence. Meets with offenders and families, monitors activities, and checks to see that the terms of the probation are being followed. Arranges social services for the offender such as drug rehab or job training; writes reports and recommendations to the court.

Hiring Agency Justice & Public Safety Cabinet | Department of Corrections Location 3000 Ash Ave Pewee Valley, KY 40056 USA Description Creating a Better, Safer Kentucky At the Kentucky Correctional Institution for Women, the mission is to promote safety for the citizens of the Commonwealth by operating an efficient adult correctional institution. Our main purpose is to provide a safe, secure, humane environment for its residents and to prepare incarcerated felons for a successful reintegration into society using constructive classification, employment training programs and treatment services and social programs. The Classification and Treatment Officer is vital to this mission by performing duties in the evaluation, assessment and counseling of inmates.The responsibilities may include:
Interviewing, evaluating and assessing inmates to identify behavioral patterns Develop case history on inmates Serve on committees to determine classification Prepare reports to assist with classification Provide daily counsel to inmates regarding the institution as well as personal or family matters Respond to inmate requests and outside agencies If you are seeking a career that is both challenging and rewarding, we would love to review your application!
