The Probation Officer, under supervision of the Court Administrator, performs a variety of clerical, technical, and administrative tasks to facilitate the efficient, effective operations of the Municipal Court Probation Program.

Pay range: $22.79-$29.18 per hour
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate's degree in related field required
  • Minimum of three years' experience in criminal justice, social programs or legal-related procedures required
  • Must be bondable
NECESSARY
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and
ABILITIES
  • Ability to support an ethical, non-discriminatory and safe work environment
  • Knowledge of legal language and procedures related to municipal court operations and probation functions
  • Knowledge of pertinent local, state, and federal laws, codes and regulations
  • Working knowledge with criminal history reporting and Missouri Uniform Law Enforcement System (MULES) and REJIS systems
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and with members of the public as needed
  • Considerable knowledge of the principles of business letter writing, English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation, principles and practices of filing and legal file systems, principles and procedures of record keeping
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and enter data accurately
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
