Job Description

The employee in this position investigates, advises, and counsels juvenile offenders under the jurisdiction of Lebanon County's Juvenile Court system. Through an evidence-based supervision approach, the employee will work to foster the juvenile's personal, social and economic adjustment in the community. The work includes a wide variety of contacts with community agencies, educational programs, friends and families in securing information regarding probationers to assist in developing useful and effective rehabilitation plans and other duties as assigned. This position entails field duties such as community-based supervision, searches and arrests that will require the employee to undergo specialized training in the use of defensive tactics, Taser and firearm certification. The candidate should possess considerable knowledge of casework principles and practices, as well as evidence-based practices as they relate to the implementation of juvenile justice. This employee will oversee tasks performed by juvenile line staff and provide training to employees and supervisory support to a unit JPO III Supervisor. Candidate must possess bachelor's degree in criminal justice, administration of justice, juvenile justice, psychology, sociology, or related field and one year of experience in probation or related social work field. Must pass a criminal background investigation and child abuse clearance and possess a valid driver's license.
