S. Probation Officer Court Name/Organization Tennessee Eastern Probation and Pretrial Services Overview of the Position The U.S. Probation Office for the Eastern District of Tennessee is accepting applications for the position of U.S. Probation Officer. The Eastern District of Tennessee is a combined district and officers are responsible for all pretrial, presentence, and post-conviction functions. The district is comprised of divisional offices located in Knoxville, Chattanooga, and Greeneville. By statute, probation and pretrial services officers serve in a judiciary law enforcement position and assist in the administration of justice. Officers promote community safety, gather information, supervise defendants/persons under supervision, interact with collateral agencies, prepare reports, conduct investigations, and present recommendations to the Court. Location Knoxville, Chattanooga, Greeneville, TN Opening and Closing Dates 03/30/2026
