Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems (DS) Sector, Quality, Manufacturing and Infrastructure (QM&I) organization is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join as a• Director 1 Environment, Health, and Safety (EH&S)•. This position will report to the DS Sector QM&I Vice President. As Director of EH&S for the DS Sector, the incumbent will play a pivotal role in leading and implementing strategies to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, promote workplace safety, and safeguard the health and well-being of Northrop Grumman DS employees and contractors. The role will oversee all aspects of EH&S management, including developing policies, implementing programs, and providing training to employees at all levels of the organization. This position can be located at one of the following locations: Huntsville, AL; Roy, UT; Linthicum, MD; or McLean, VA. Key responsibilities of the Director of EH&S include: Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive EH&S programs to ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards. Partner with the Enterprise EH&S team to foster a consistent culture of safety and environmental stewardship throughout the organization. Collaborate with cross-sector and cross-functional teams to integrate EH&S considerations into all aspects of the sector's operations, including product design, manufacturing processes, and supply chain management. Lead a focused team of EH&S professionals to meet and exceed annual goals while operating within an annual budget. Drive a culture of achievement that enhances the career experience for all team members and facilitates employee development in alignment with career objectives. Provides clear assignments, helps employees connect their efforts to the bigger picture, and build a culture that motivates employees to their highest level of performance. Affirm and implement a comprehensive Safety Management System to identify, assess and mitigate risks to promote continuous improvement in safety performance. Support the company's corporate EH&S audit program to identify potential hazards, evaluate risks, and implement corrective actions to mitigate safety and environmental risks across the enterprise. Assess DS EH&S performance based on enterprise leading and lagging indicators. Drive the "near miss" safety program within DS, highlighting areas for operational improvement. Lead DS incident investigations and root cause analyses to identify opportunities for improvement and implement preventative measures to reduce the likelihood of future incidents. Stay abreast of emerging trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in the field of EH&S and proactively recommend and implement initiatives to enhance the sector's EH&S performance. Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on EH&S performance, trends, and initiatives, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement. Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor on EH&S matters, providing guidance and support to all levels of the organization. Cultivate durable partnerships across the enterprise, especially with key collaborators within Northrop Grumman's Legal, Operations, and Supply Chain organizations, in addition to the EH&S-focused teams within each of the three divisions. The successful candidate must have a solid understanding of federal and state laws and regulations, project management methodologies, operational processes, agency interaction, and cost and project controls. He/she must have the ability to drive change, lead cross-functional and cross-sector activities, develop a team of experts, and build relationships at all levels of the organization and with external vendors and suppliers. •
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree with 10 plus years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with 8 plus years of relevant experience A minimum of 10 plus years of working experience in the field of environment, health, safety, sustainability or similar fields. A minimum of 5 years of experience in staff management. Experience in leading the development and implementation of EH&S programs at the site, division, sector and/or enterprise level. Program vision oriented resulting in sustainable value and performance. Proven ability to build and maintain high performing teams. Proven ability to take ownership and be accountable with an "owners" mindset. Strong interpersonal skills, an exceptional self-starter attitude, and the ability to produce in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Strong business/financial acumen, keen organizational skills, and excellent problem-solving ability. Ability to travel to various project locations in the United States and possibly international. Ability to acquire and maintain Top Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a focus in a STEM-related field. Project management experience is preferred. Proven ability to build relationships and work effectively with local, state and/or federal regulatory staff and leadership. Experience in developing partnerships with third-party experts is preferred.
Primary Level Salary Range:
$160,200.00 - $278,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
