Site Safety Manager Burkes Mechanical, Inc. - 4.0 Montgomery, AL Job Details Full-time 17 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Flexible spending account Vision insurance 401(k) matching Qualifications CPR Certification Construction safety management Outdoor work experience OSHA 30 High school diploma or GED First Aid Certification OSHA 30-Hour Construction Full Job Description Position Summary The Site Safety Manager (SSM) has the responsibility to provide support, advice, and guidance, as may be needed by project managers, superintendents, foremen and field employees in providing a safe work environment. The SSM assists with planning, implementing, and enforcing safety policies and procedures on construction sites to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company standards, and project-specific safety requirements. This role promotes a culture of safety, minimizes workplace hazards, and works closely with the corporate safety director, project management, subcontractors, and field personnel to prevent accidents and injuries. We are currently hiring one Site Safety Manager for a job site in Montgomery, AL. Key Responsibilities
  • Be a role model for safety, promoting a positive safety culture and encouraging safe work practices
  • Ensure safety indoctrination for new employees, subcontractors, and visitors
  • Develop and implement site-specific safety plans and programs
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations (OSHA, DOT, EPA, etc.)
  • Perform worksite inspections to assure compliance with applicable safety rules and regulations and document this inspection weekly
  • Assist company management and clients in investigation of incidents, accidents, and near misses; assist with reports and corrective actions
  • Assist with toolbox talks and provide ongoing safety training for site personnel
  • Stop work when unsafe conditions or behaviors are observed and ensure corrective actions are taken
  • Maintain safety documentation, including permits, logs, training records, and inspection reports
  • Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to integrate safety into daily operations
  • Participate in pre-task planning and job hazard analyses (JPSA)
  • Assist with audits and inspections by regulatory agencies or clients Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Safety, Construction Management, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of safety experience
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards
  • OSHA 30-hour certification (required)
  • First Aid / CPR certification
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in active construction environments and varying weather conditions Other Requirements
  • Ability to walk construction job site terrain for extended periods
  • Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, and stairs
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule to meet the demands of the industrial construction industry
