Position Summary The Safety, Quality & Equipment Compliance Manager is responsible for leading and supporting RBD's safety, quality, and equipment compliance efforts across all active projects. This position provides direct oversight of the Quality team and works closely with superintendents, foremen, project managers, vendors, and operations leadership to ensure company standards are consistently followed in the field. This role is responsible for identifying risk, improving jobsite accountability, supporting safety compliance, ensuring quality documentation and inspection standards are met, controlling rental equipment usage, and helping create consistent processes across RBD projects. The purpose of this position is to protect RBD by reducing safety exposure, improving quality performance, supporting AISC and company standards, controlling equipment-related costs, and ensuring field issues are addressed before they become larger operational or financial problems. Reporting Structure The Safety, Quality & Equipment Compliance Manager reports to the Director of Construction and/or Field Operations leadership. The Quality team reports directly to the Safety, Quality & Equipment Compliance Manager. This includes Quality Inspectors, CWIs, and other quality personnel as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safety Compliance Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections and document findings. Identify unsafe work practices, hazards, and jobsite conditions requiring corrective action. Work with superintendents, foremen, and field leadership to correct safety concerns in a timely manner. Assist with incident investigations, near-miss reviews, root cause discussions, and corrective action follow-up. Support compliance with company safety policies, OSHA requirements, site-specific requirements, and customer safety expectations. Verify that employees have required PPE, training, certifications, and safety documentation when applicable. Reinforce a culture where safety expectations are clear, consistent, and enforced. Escalate repeated or serious safety concerns to operations leadership. Quality Management Provide direct leadership, direction, and accountability for the Quality team. Assign quality inspections, field visits, documentation responsibilities, and follow-up items. Review quality reports for completeness, accuracy, and required corrective action. Ensure inspection logs are maintained and updated consistently. Ensure Quality team members complete reports, logs, and required documentation accurately and within required timelines. Perform jobsite quality checks to confirm work is being completed according to project specifications, drawings, company expectations, and applicable standards. Identify quality issues, rework concerns, missing documentation, or field practices that could create risk for the company. Communicate quality concerns to the superintendent, foreman, project management team, and operations leadership. Track quality issues and follow up to ensure corrective action is completed. Support RBD's quality standards, including documentation and process compliance related to AISC certification where applicable. Help create consistency in how quality expectations are communicated, inspected, documented, and enforced across all projects. Equipment Compliance and Rental Management Manage rental equipment needs and usage across active projects. Coordinate with superintendents, foremen, project managers, and vendors to ensure the correct equipment is ordered, delivered, tracked, and returned timely. Review rental equipment usage to reduce unnecessary costs, duplicate rentals, idle equipment, and late returns. Maintain an equipment log showing equipment type, project location, vendor, rental dates, responsible person, and return status. Verify that equipment is inspected, used properly, and maintained in safe working condition. Resolve rental equipment issues with vendors, including damage claims, billing discrepancies, delivery problems, and equipment failures. Monitor equipment-related costs and report concerns to operations leadership. Identify opportunities to improve equipment planning, utilization, tracking, and cost control. Documentation and Reporting Complete safety, quality, and equipment reports accurately and timely. Submit reports within 24 hours of jobsite visits, inspections, incidents, or equipment-related findings. Maintain organized logs for inspections, corrective actions, rental equipment, and follow-up items. Communicate urgent safety, quality, or equipment issues immediately to the appropriate leader. Provide recurring updates to leadership regarding safety trends, quality concerns, equipment costs, and field compliance. Ensure documentation supports company processes, customer requirements, and applicable certification standards. Team Leadership and Accountability Supervise, support, and develop Quality team members. Set clear expectations for jobsite coverage, inspection standards, reporting, follow-up, and professional conduct. Hold Quality team members accountable for performance, communication, documentation, and consistency. Train or coach employees when gaps are identified. Support the development and implementation of safety, quality, and equipment processes. Escalate repeated non-compliance, unsafe behavior, poor-quality work, documentation failures, or equipment misuse to operations leadership. Partner with field leadership to ensure company standards are understood and followed. Required Qualifications Experience in construction, industrial construction, steel, fabrication, field operations, safety, quality, equipment coordination, or a related field. Strong understanding of jobsite safety practices and construction field operations. Ability to identify safety hazards, quality issues, equipment concerns, and operational inefficiencies. Experience leading or coordinating employees, inspectors, vendors, or field personnel. Strong communication skills with both field and office personnel. Ability to document findings clearly and professionally. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to travel to jobsites as needed. Ability to hold employees and vendors accountable while maintaining professional relationships. Basic computer skills, including email, spreadsheets, reporting systems, and field documentation platforms. Preferred Qualifications OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. CWI certification or experience managing CWIs and quality inspectors. Experience with steel construction, erection, fabrication, or industrial construction. Experience with AISC certification standards and quality documentation requirements. Experience managing rental equipment, owned equipment, or vendor relationships. Experience with SiteDocs, SmartBarrel, Bluebeam, Viewpoint, or similar systems. Preferred Qualifications OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. CWI certification or experience managing CWIs and quality inspectors. Experience with steel construction, erection, fabrication, or industrial construction. Experience with AISC certification standards and quality documentation requirements. Experience managing rental equipment, owned equipment, or vendor relationships. Experience with SiteDocs, SmartBarrel, Bluebeam, Viewpoint, or similar system English/Spanish bilingual preferred

Pay:

$95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
