• Job Title: On-Site Construction Safety Lead
• Job Description
• The On-Site Construction Safety Lead oversees daily environmental health and safety compliance for active commercial and industrial construction and electrical field operations.

This key site leadership role serves as the primary safety point of contact with the project General Contractor while managing safety operations for a dedicated team of approximately 40 trade workers. The position offers a clear career progression path toward full Safety Manager responsibilities and provides the opportunity to directly influence safety performance and culture on complex projects.

• Responsibilities
• + Conduct daily site inspections, safety audits, and detailed job hazard analyses (JHA) to identify and mitigate risks across all active work areas.

+ Enforce OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E standards, and site-specific General Contractor safety guidelines to ensure consistent compliance with all applicable requirements.

+ Lead daily toolbox talks and safety meetings, deliver safety orientations for new personnel, and facilitate ongoing safety training for field teams.

+ Investigate site incidents and near-misses, document findings, and recommend corrective and preventive actions to improve overall safety performance.

+ Collaborate closely with Project Managers and General Contractor safety representatives to align safety practices with project plans and schedules.

+ Represent subcontractor safety interests professionally during General Contractor coordination meetings and site safety reviews.

+ Ensure all field personnel are properly equipped with appropriate PPE, tools, and equipment and verify that they are trained and compliant with established safety protocols.

+ Support ramp-up and high-activity periods by maintaining strong safety oversight during extended work schedules and overtime shifts.

+ Act as a visible safety leader on site by mentoring field personnel, reinforcing safety expectations, and promoting a proactive safety culture.

+ Maintain accurate and timely safety documentation, including inspection reports, training records, and compliance tracking for certifications and standards.

• Essential Skills
• + S1-3 years of experience serving as a Safety Lead or Sr Safety Technician on active commercial or industrial construction or electrical jobsites.

+ Proven experience managing safety operations in the field and working directly with trade workers and project leadership.

+ Valid

OSHA 510

(Occupational Safety and Health Standards for Construction) certification. + Strong working knowledge of

NFPA 70E

standards and electrical safety compliance requirements.

+ Active CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) certification through BCSP, or current enrollment and active progress toward CHST certification in an accredited program.

+ Demonstrated ability to conduct job hazard analyses (JHA), safety audits, and site inspections in construction and industrial environments.

+ Experience leading toolbox talks, safety orientations, and safety training sessions for field personnel.

+ Ability to represent subcontractor interests professionally during General Contractor coordination meetings and safety discussions.

+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with Project Managers, General Contractor safety representatives, and field teams.

+ Solid understanding of OSHA construction industry regulations and site-specific safety guidelines.

• Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience working on large commercial or industrial construction projects with multiple trades on site.

• Work Environment
• This role is based on an active construction project site in the West Valley (Goodyear) area and is fully field-focused.

You will work on large commercial and industrial construction and electrical projects, closely integrated with General Contractor teams and multiple trades. The schedule typically ranges from 50 to 60 hours per week, Monday through Saturday, with standard 10-hour workdays, and you must be available to support ramp-up periods that may extend up to 72 hours per week when needed. The environment is fast-paced, physically active, and requires regular presence on the jobsite for inspections, audits, and coordination. You will work around heavy equipment, electrical systems, and ongoing construction activities, using appropriate personal protective equipment and following site safety protocols at all times.

• Pay and Benefits
• The pay range for this position is $38.

00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
